Develops, tests and reviews machinery, tools, equipment and new products under direction of the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and/or Omaha Plant Manager by performing the following duties.


  • Works in a hands-on manufacturing environment, modeling, testing, building, and providing technical support for many different types of machines and products

  • Conducts reviews on manufacturing equipment to assure Quality Assurance tolerances and safety requirements can be met

  • Coordinates with Professional Engineers, Sales Consultants, Drafting Technicians, Construction Estimators, and Manufacturing Personnel

  • Brings new products into production, and assists in maintaining current production equipment

  • Conducts stress analysis on equipment and products to improve efficiencies in designs

  • Oversees installation and startup of new equipment at each of the Morton locations.

  • Develops control software code and electrical schematics to control equipment.

  • Drives automation at Morton Plant Facilities

  • Assists in troubleshooting equipment issues at each Morton location.



  • Minimum of Associates Degree, BS or MS in Electrical or General Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in Electrical Design or Manufacturing setting
  • Minimum 2 years experience using 3-D modeling programs, AutoCAD Inventor (is preferred and used)
  • Experience with or willing to learn PLC programming
  • Must be highly motivated with the ability to meet daily deadlines
  • Self-starter with a positive, willing to learn attitude
  • Able to work independently, as well as able to work well in a team setting
  • Service minded with excellent communication skills
