The Area Construction Supervisor’s primary function is to maximize jobsite revenue production to budget by maintaining an ongoing physical presence on all jobsites within designated area with an emphasis on improvement in 3 key areas:

  • Safety, Efficiency & Quality
  • The ACS will execute, coordinate and direct all necessary jobsite operational activities needed in order to meet or exceed area budget as directed by the Area Manager.
  • This position will oversee crews at Holton, KS; Kearney, NE; Salina, KS; Garden City, KS; Clinton, MO; and Chillicothe, MO.

Responsibilities

  • The ACS will serve as the direct report for all Crew Foreman, Scissor and Digger Operators in area
  • Execution of the following:
    • Set daily/weekly work schedules that drive expected revenues
    • Recruiting and hiring of construction personnel
    • Monitoring ongoing crew performance
    • Corrective action plans for low performance crews
    • Regular visits including OJT on all jobsites
    • Training of crew personnel
    • Assume the lead role and/or assemble corrective actions plans on all jobs behind budget
    • Special site safety planning
    • Attend each CC’s pre-construction meetings on a regular basis, to ensure they are conducted effectively
    • Maintain inventory control over tools
    • Jobsite safety equipment management
  • Assist the Area Manager with the following:
    • Propose the construction staffing requirements needed in order to hit annual budget
    • Propose crew performance metrics by crew
    • Setting customer and scheduling priorities
    • Propose promotions, wage rates, crew rosters and terminations
    • Customer service requirements on construction related issues
    • Monitor project closeout and expedite punch list items to ensure prompt final payments.
  • Provide safety and Dept. of Transportation (DOT) training and monitoring on:
    • Safety procedures
      • OSHA compliance
      • First Aid and CPR certification
      • Cargo Securement certification
      • Aerial Lift certification
      • Equipment Certification
      • Equipment Maintenance certification
  • DOT requirements
      • Instruct and qualify new drivers on Federal Driving Requirements
      • Instruct new drivers on DOT Logging Procedures
      • Perform random drug testing
        • Builds teamwork by promoting positive attitudes, recognizes strengths, acknowledges weaknesses, and develops plans for improvements.
        • Will be a safety advocate for Morton Buildings, Inc. and promote and enforce all safety regulations

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5-10 years post-frame construction experience and expertise
  • OSHA 30 Hr. course
  • Must be able to comply with our safety equipment’s 300 lb. weight limit.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Established organizational and planning skills
  • Proven leadership and team building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple construction crews
  • Thorough understanding and endorsement of corporate policies and procedures
  • Proven ability to establish work place environments that are safe, organized, productive and enjoyable
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills
  • Must be able to travel.
