Construction Estimators will work on a wide variety of custom designed projects, interacting with various departments throughout the company to organize and develop material take-offs and preparing material requisitions.


  • Conducts price reviews on all building orders and their components, assembling material take offs from building plans and conducting administrative review of all contractual paperwork between Morton, Morton subcontractors and the owner. 
  • Prepares material requisitions for specialty components manufactured at our facilities, calculating and ordering specialty merchandise from vendors, and coordinating with drafting technicians, engineers and project managers on the creation and verification of all drawings and details. 
  • Interacts with various individuals within the company such as engineers, architects, drafting technicians, project managers, sales consultants and construction personnel. 
  • Takes on a wide variety of custom designed projects that may include farm machinery storage facilities, suburban garages, horse barns, houses, veterinarian clinics, restaurants, churches, office complexes, manufacturing facilities and much more. 
  • All estimators work in a hands-on training environment that includes various training sessions with the aid of various Morton Buildings’ manuals and visual aids.



  • Minimum 4 year construction related degree or 2-year degree in a construction related field with previous construction experience.
  • Must be highly motivated with the ability to meet daily deadlines
  • Previous hands on experience with Auto CAD 2011 or higher is preferred
  • Self starter with a positive, willing to learn attitude and extremely detail-oriented.
  • Able to work independently, as well as within a team setting.
  • Service minded with excellent communication skills.
